For about a year now, Brad McDougall and I have worked together at his blacksmithing
studio in northern Connecticut to make many new artworks. The technical name for
blacksmithing is forgings, which is to heat steel red hot and then bang artfully on the steel
with manual and power hammers. Below a video by Andrei Severny and ET shows some of the
new works and their lively method of production.

Your forgings are absolutely fantastic…almost beyond description. Visually, one can feel the hammer denting the metal, which makes the sculptures even more delicious. The Sothebee’s clip was great. Keep up the good work. JL.

[ET comment: thanks so much for your kind thoughts, and for spotting Sothebee’s!]
